The New North podcast investigates the unique sounds and perspectives of exploratory musicians. New North is a new Narrm/Melbourne based platform for musicians who push boundaries in their areas of practice. This podcast is a companion to our concert series, which celebrates the amazing work of musicians and sound artists, both established and emerging, who make and present work on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Saturday Aug 12, 2023
This is Ep.15 of 'The New North Podcast', which does a deep dive into the unique ideas and approaches that make Melbourne's exploratory music scene so rich and varied.
Aditya talks about fixed/fleeting, which he created with support from the 2022 New North Emerging Artist Commission. The work combines hydrophone recordings from various bodies of water with restrained acoustic sounds performed by Aditya on percussion and Justinn Lu on Saxophone.
Discover ideas that informed Aditya's composition and how his work engages with legacies of colonialism that manifest in the relationship between people and ecologies.
